Creators Jessica Brookman and Eloise Healey have more than 20 years experience between them as screenwriters. Jessica has written for the BAFTA and International Emmy Award-winning series Nowhere Boys, local favourite The Secret Daughter and was script editor on the feature film The Caretaker, which was awarded Best International Feature at Buffalo Screams Horror Fest, Best Feature at Seattle True Independent Film Festival and Best Feature at DC Independent Film Festival. Most recently she was a recipient of the inaugural 2018 Hothouse Drama Program supported by Scripted Ink, Screentime and Nine. Eloise’s writing credits include the internationally screened The Doctor Blake Mysteries and Winners and Losers, and her original drama project Dirty Hearts was a semi-finalist in the USA’s Industry Insider TV Pilot Competition. Both Jessica and Eloise are in demand as story consultants for dramas in development and have worked extensively in the industry as writers, script editors and story editors. They met 10 years ago in the trenches of Australia’s longest-running show, Neighbours.
Together, Jessica and Eloise have created a broad slate of original television dramas that have had success in script competitions in both Australia and the USA. Their project Black Creek was one of the first recipients of development funding from Scripted Ink and also received Film Victoria support.
