Sam Meikle is a highly experienced writer and creator with over 200 hours of produced credits across a broad range of prime-time Australian television dramas, comedies, animation and web series. Short films he’s written, directed and/or produced have screened at festivals around the world and he’s been engaged to develop multiple feature film projects. Sam has worked extensively in program development for many of Australia’s leading production houses, along with writing and interviewing for documentary works. He holds a Masters in screenwriting from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (2000), he’s a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts Playwrights’ Studio (2000), a recipient of a 2009 Australian Writers’ Guild/Arts NSW Mentorship, along with the 2014 Inscription Enderby Entertainment Scholarship, and was a member of the 2018 Screen Australia Talent USA delegation to Los Angeles. He has been nominated for 11 Australian Writers’ Guild Awards and won 4.
Christopher Smyth has over 25 years’ experience working at the nexus of broadcast media and digital technology and is an experienced senior executive. He is the former Director of ABC Northern Territory and has worked for many of Australia’s leading digital, broadcast and cultural organisations.
Chris has extensive experience in the development of innovative content for broadcast and digital platforms and has received several federal and state government innovation grants. He was instrumental in launching the ABC’s first online video service and recently launched the ABC’s first Indigenous Language News Service. He also developed the Sydney Opera House AIMIA award-winning online video portal.
Chris is a published author and has executive-produced several comedy and documentary television programs for the ABC, Foxtel and Sydney Opera House. Chris is a graduate of the University of Canberra, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and is a fellow of the Vincent Fairfax Ethical Leadership Program (University of Melbourne).
