About Mandy McCarthy

Mandy has just completed writing her debut script for the ABC medical drama Pulse having spent several years in the script departments and writer’s rooms of some of Australia’s most critically acclaimed television dramas, including East West 101, Spirited, and Puberty Blues. She has worked for Southern Star Entertainment, Knapman Wyld Television, Playmaker Media, FremantleMedia Australia, and the ABC, amongst others.

In 2010 Mandy won the Australian Writers’ Guild Monte Miller Award (Short Form) for an unproduced screenplay, From Halfway There, With Love, which has been optioned. More recently her debut feature film script, The Long, Wide Blow was nominated for the Monte Miller Long Form Award, and the script was selected to take part in the prestigious international scriptwriting workshop, éQuinoxetbc.

She currently works for ABC TV Fiction as script assessor and continues to consult on a freelance basis as a writer, story consultant and script editor.
