About Michael Kratochvil

Michael Kratochvil is an award-winning Melbourne-based writer and director. A graduate of VCA School of Film & TV and an alumnus of Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab and Film Victoria Catapult Lab, his short films have screened at multiple Academy and BAFTA accredited festivals worldwide.

Michael’s screenplays have placed in the semifinals at Austin Film Festival and quarterfinals at Slamdance. His screenplay ‘THE PARADISE SYNDROME’ was runner-up for the 2016 Australian Writer’s Guild John Hinde Award and secured him LA based management. His most recent screenplay ‘JUDETH’ was granted feature development funding through Film Victoria.
