After finishing a journalism degree at Charles Sturt University, Jessica Paine spent six years working as a producer, starting at Sky News. Before long she moved on to live breakfast and morning shows such as Sunrise, Today, and the Kerri-Anne Kennerley show.
Seeking a more creative outlet, she attended AFTRS, completing her Graduate Certificate, and Graduate Diploma in Screenwriting. Her major project for the latter, a pilot script for an hour long dramedy entitled The Knot, was nominated for the Monte Miller in the AWGIES in 2013.
Jess worked as a note-taker and researcher on a range of projects for Matchbox and Playmaker (including Deadline Gallipoli and Love Child), before performing the Script Coordinator role for the second season of Wonderland, and the first season of Cleverman.
Since then she has been a Script Editor, and Associate Story Producer with Neighbours, while also receiving her first professional writing credits with the iconic Aussie soap.
