Anna Lindner

Anna is a writer and actor, hailing from regional South Australia. Her writing has just had her announced as a development recipient of the Screen Australia & SBS Digital Originals initiative for her project A Beginner’s Guide to Grief.

She most recently made the Top 5 for the AACTA Pitch: Regional Landscapes competition and is currently receiving mentorship from Australian screenwriter, Holly Lyons as part of the WIFT MentorHer 2020 program. Last year she won the 2019 Screen Makers Conference ABC iView $10,000 Pitch-a-rama competition for her project, The Dash; the same project that awarded her the Writer’s Residency in France at the 2018 Marseille Web Festival. The same year, she was awarded $5000 from ABC iView for her winning screen pitch at the 2018 Melbourne WebFest. In 2017, she was the recipient of Screen Australia’s Gender Matters new screenwriters initiative, Smart For A Girl: Roar.

Her screenwriting draws particular attention to the compassion and courage required to laugh in darkness. She is committed to addressing the worlds of mental health, attitudes toward ageing, gender perception and sexuality. As a screen actor, she currently features in Closer Productions’ drama, The Hunting, directed by Sophie Hyde & Ana Kokkinos.
