Aria Kitchener is a dedicated Wiradjuri and Bundjalung artist passionate about making the complexities of indigenous history, sciences, anthropology, and culture more accessible through creative storytelling.
With a demonstrated track record in freelancing, multimedia projects, and animation, Aria is committed to not only delivering compelling narratives but also to fully understanding and accurately presenting the main issues his creative art tends to portray.
His dedication to education led them to earn a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and to work in the field as an indigenous-focused bush regenerator—all in an effort to bring more authentic, true-to-life worldbuilding to his latest First Nations science-fiction project.
In 2024, Aria was selected for a Writing for TV Intensive program with Nerida Groth. That same year, his politically charged artwork, Born to Revolt, was featured in two key exhibitions: the 2024 Wollumbin Art Award Finalists Exhibition and as the winning piece at the 2024 Koori Mail Youth Art Award. In 2025, Aria began collaborating with his local Bundjalung Elders to develop accessible language resources. Later in May 2025, he was selected for the Seeding Storytellers program through Screenworks and the Australian Writers’ Guild. This intensive program provided training in note-taking, script coordinating, and the fundamentals of a writers’ room through three day-long online workshops led by industry experts Catherine Kelleher and Terence McCarthy.
