Blake Ayshford is one of Australia’s most exciting new writers. He was co-writer of this year’s AWGIE nominated mini-series Barracuda, and Showrunner on the Logie and AACTA award winning Foxtel drama series Devil’s Playground, set in the clandestine world of Catholic Church politics of the 1980s. He also wrote An Accidental Soldier directed by Rachel Ward and nominated for 6 AACTA Awards, an AWGIE for Best Telemovie, and the NSW Premier’s Literary Award for Best Screenplay.
In 2015 Blake was writer of Cut Snake, the winner of the Inaugural Adelaide Film Festival/Insite award for Best Unproduced Screenplay. It was nominated for an AACTA AWARD for Best Original Screenplay, and AWGIE for Best Screenplay and Best Screenplay at the Film Critics Awards.
Other credits include ABC1 political drama The Code, The Straits (for which he won an AWGIE for Best Original Miniseries), Love My Way, Fighting Season and The Cooks (for which he won the Queensland Premiers Prize for Best Screenplay).
