Danielle is an actor and writer of Greek heritage working across Film/TV and Theatre.
Danielle was one of the writers for the world’s first hijabi comedy web series Halal Gurls for ABC iview. Last year, she was also selected for Screen Australia’s Developing the Developer 2019 program coordinated by Louise Gough and Bali Padda, selected as one of the country’s rising story developers for screen. Danielle was also selected across creatives in Western Sydney for Co-Curious’ Behind Closed Doors program as an emerging producer and mentored by Emerald Productions (Ali’s Wedding/Undertow). This has given her the opportunity to be a part of the producing and development team for the upcoming feature film Here Out West, story produced by Blake Ayshford. She also worked as the script coordinator for season one of ABC/Netflix comedy The Letdown (Sarah Scheller/Alison Bell), a participant in Information and Cultural Exchange’s Screen Cultures’ Produce Perfect 2017 Program in Parramatta. Danielle won the program’s final pitch competition for her original TV concept in front of SPA producers and commissioning editors.
In 2018, Danielle was selected into the the National Theatre of Parramatta’s Playwrights of Parramatta. Danielle also works in theatre as an actor and co-artistic director of independent company Edgeware Forum. She received a Best Ensemble Cast 2016 Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Patricia Cornelius’ Slut. Her acting credits include Love Child and the internationally nominated and award-winning web series Sydney Sleuthers. (Winner Best Ensemble Cast Comedy, 2019 ASIA Web Awards/Atlanta Women’s Comedy Festival, Miami Web Fest Finalist/2020 Oniros Film Awards Selection Finalist, Santa-Monica 2019 Web Fest and 2019 NYC Web Fest). Danielle has a strong affinity for exploring stories across hybrid genres in the realms of supernatural, comedy and fantasy. Danielle seeks to shine a light on unseen stories belonging to Australian diaspora generations and the unheard of voices from intersecting dispersions of ethnic women.
Danielle’s note-taking experience spans working across story development teams and on productions with Lingo Pictures, Co-Curious & Emerald Productions, In-Between Pictures (Halal Gurls) and Information & Cultural Exchange’s across their Screen Australia supported online story development teams. Danielle was also a participant in AWG’s 2018 Note-taker Workshop with Niki Aken and Mithila Gupta.
