Gemma Crofts is a screenwriter for film and television.
She recently finished writing on a new show for Werner Film Productions which she helped develop, and is in late stage development on her award-winning feature script Mayfield with director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) and producer Peter Lawson (John Wick, Spotlight), which is scheduled to shoot in Australia in mid 2021.
Her screenwriting has won and been shortlisted for both Australian and international awards, including a Nicholl semi-finalist, Austin semi-finalist, PAGE Bronze Award, Script Pipeline semi-finalist, and a two time nominee and one time winner of the Monte Miller Award for Best Unproduced Long Form Screenplay at the Australian Writers’ Guild Awards. She has two television shows in development with both Australian and US companies, and is represented in LA by Lauren Dineley at Writ Large.
She is also an experienced development professional and was a development executive for over eight years, working for Mushroom Pictures, Dynamic Television (US), Working Title Films (UK) and Werner Film Productions. She is an experienced script editor, having trained in feature script development at the Binger Film Lab in Amsterdam.
