James Cripps is a screenwriter and script editor jumping between TV, film and online. Previously Screentime’s Drama Development Coordinator, James was involved in the development and production of shows such as Wolf Creek (Stan), Pine Gap (Netflix) and Underbelly Files: Chopper (Nine Network). He has been script editor on Informer 3838 (Nine Network) and Janet King 3 (ABC).
In 2019, his comedy-drama web series pilot won awards at Copenhagen Web Fest and DC Web Fest. The project was developed as a TV series with support from Screen Australia, and recently won the 2021 Australian Writers’ Guild Monte Miller Award (Long Form).
After being short listed in the 2019 Monte Miller Awards, his horror-drama online series was optioned by Beyond Entertainment. The script was a semi-finalist in Shore Scripts TV Pilot Contest 2021, a second rounder in Austin Film Festival 2019, and is currently #2 web series script of all time on Coverfly’s The Red List.
In 2021, his horror-thriller feature was a finalist in the AACTA Pitch: Bite competition. His multi-award-winning drama web series Blind (2018) that he wrote and produced was acquired as an “OzFlix Original” for VOD OzFlix, as well as Flixxo, Twisted Mirror TV and SeekaTV.
