Jennifer van Gessel

Jennifer van Gessel was selected to take part in NSW First Break and successfully completed the program in June 2022.

Jennifer has worked in the film industry as a writer/producer since 2005. A comic based on her screenplay Unleash was published internationally by AMIGO and quickly picked up a cult following.

In 2016 Jennifer wrote and produced a feature film titled Beast No More which won the audience award at Monsterfest and best Australian feature at the Sanctuary International Film Festival. It was distributed worldwide by Level 33 Entertainment. Jennifer is currently in post on her feature Water Horse and is also working on scripts with producer Michael Beer (Occupation: Rainfall) and companies such as Raven Banner (Canada) and Myriad Pictures (USA).

Recently her screenplay Mother of Pigs was one of six selected to participate in the prestigious Sitges Film Festival Pitch Box event. Her feature titled DOPS was also invited to the Filmarket Hub market after ranking highly in their English writing contest.
