Joel Loxton is an emerging screenwriter whose unconventional upbringing and lived experiences shape his passion for stories about outsiders, chaos, and connection.
His work draws from his lived experience, exploring themes of identity, isolation, and the human need for control in an unpredictable world. With a signature tone that balances suspense, dark humour, and moral complexity, Joel creates stories that leave audiences reflecting on the bittersweetness of connection and the awe of confronting forces beyond one’s control.
Joel’s production background spans work in post-production, cinematography, and teaching. He has worked at Beyond Productions, and has extensive experience managing short films and commercial shoots. Joel has taught filmmaking and managed student productions at JMC Academy, leveraging his skills in both technical expertise and creative storytelling.
