John Alsop is a Sydney-based screenwriter whose work includes co-writing the ABC-TV dramas “Brides of Christ”, “The Leaving of Liverpool”, “Bordertown” and “My Place”; the SBS mini-series “R.A.N. Remote Area Nurse”; and an adaptation of George Johnston’s classic “My Brother Jack” for Network Ten.
John has also written and directed two short films: “Cool White” and “He. She. It.”
He has won 4 Australian Writers’ Guild Awards for television drama and 2 AFI Screenwriting Awards together with Sue Smith. He is a past recipient of both a Foxtel Fellowship and the AWG Dorothy Crawford Award for Contributions to the Field of Script Editing.
