John Doyle has written for radio and television and stage and been honoured by the Australian Writers’ Guild on nine occasions.
He has received seven AWGIE Awards for Comedy [This Sporting Life and Club Buggery] and two AWGIES for Drama [Changi and Marking Time] and shared with Greig Pickhaver the Fred Parson’s Award from the Guild for Outstanding Contribution to Australian Comedy. John won the NSW Premier’s Literary Award and an AFI for Marking Time.
He has written two plays – The Pig Iron People, produced by the Sydney Theatre Company and Vere [Faith] co-produced by the State Theatre Company of South Australia and the Sydney Theatre Company.
