Katie Huggins is an emerging creative based in Sydney.
Katie is the 2021 recipient of the AACTA Pitch: Rural Landscapes with Screenworks pitch competition for her idea of The Deb. Katie studied creative writing and history at the University of Wollongong and is currently studying her Masters of Creative Writing at UTS. She is a member of the Yorkshire Writing Squad, UK – a UK based writing mentorship program. Katie has worked in film and TV production for over two years and is pursuing a career in film and TV writing. She has been published in several literary publications. Katie’s interest is in strong female stories, with diverse characters and stories, and she hopes to tell authentic and entertaining stories.
