Lily Cheng is a Chinese-Australian screenwriter working across action, horror, supernatural fantasy and speculative sci-fi.
A Macquarie University graduate in Writing in Drama, she has spent more than a decade building experience across the Australian screen industry while developing her own work.
Her writing credits include web series Atomic Kingdom, short film Huli Jing, and feature Suka, distributed by Umbrella Entertainment and released across Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Roku and Nine Network.
In 2024, Lily was awarded a Screen NSW writer’s attachment at Tilt Media and selected for the AWG’s First Break initiative, gaining experience inside professional Australian writers’ rooms.
Most recently, her Chinese folklore horror feature TO THE BRIM received Screen NSW development funding.
Above all, her mission is to join the ranks of female writers who push boundaries, reimagine culture and mythology, and prove that no genre is off-limits.
