Mary Rachel Brown

Mary is a Sydney-based playwright and screenwriter. She is the recipient of The Lysicrates Prize, The Rodney Seaborn Award, The Max Affords Award, and The Griffin Award.

Mary’s TV credits include contributing sketch writer for The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting for ABC, several episodes of Home and Away for Chanel 7 and The Dapto Chaser, which was screened on ABC TV and at Dendy Cinemas. (Filmed by Australian Theatre Live).

Mary has extensive experience as a dramaturg and script assessor. She regularly teaches writing workshops. Currently, she is working as a tutor at NIDA, and delivering The Young Playwrights Program for Canberra Youth Theatre.
