Max Evans

Max is an emerging Melbourne-based screenwriter of film, television and games with an obsessive need to be just a little silly about it. He is passionate about finding humour in the mundane, bringing laughter to a world that really needs it.

Max has a Bachelor of Film, Television and Animation from Deakin University, and an Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting from RMIT University where he received the 2025 Australian Writers’ Guild Award for Outstanding Student Performance.

Max has completed three professional internships. At production company Flood Projects in 2023, he assisted with development research and distribution for feature films. In 2025, he interviewed directors and wrote articles for the Australian Directors’ Guild website. He also assisted with playtesting, research and copywriting tasks at indie game company Liquid Heart Studios, including preparing funding applications and writing web content. Since graduating, Max has undertaken copywriting work for Liquid Heart and Puppet Show Media, writing funding applications, game store pages and trailer scripts. Max enjoys writing comedy, sci-fi and children’s television.

In his spare time, Max enjoys obsessing over Halo lore, building Lego and eating way too much cheesecake.
