Mimi is an Australian-German writer and director based in WA. She enjoys writing comedy and dramedy, with a particular focus on family dynamics, queer themes and female-centred stories.
Over the last eight years in the industry, Mimi has written a number of short films which have screened at festivals nationally and internationally as well as on the ABC. Her most recent film Tent Girl won Best Comedy at both Berlin Indie Film Festival and Up:Close San Francisco Short Film Festival.
In 2020, Mimi was selected as one of eight writers to participate in the WIFT/CinefestOZ writer’s retreat, where she completed the first draft of her German-Australian feature screenplay Nene.
On Mimi’s current slate is Amy the Pirate and the Quest for the Crystal Caves, a queer, absurdist online comedy series which recently received Screenwest Scripted Development funding. She is also on the writing team for Audible/Screenwest commissioned sci-fi-thriller podcast series Received at Murchison.
Aside from creative projects, she works for a local production company as a copywriter and as a personal servant to her two cats, Maisie and Elf.
