Neilesh Verma

Neilesh Verma is a Pakistani-Australian writer, director and former stand-up comedian based in Sydney.

His short films and music videos have screened at both local and international film festivals and on television networks such as MTV (India), Triangle TV (New Zealand) and SBS (Australia). In the past he has opened for veteran comedians at both the Sydney Comedy Festival and the Sydney Fringe Festival and has recently finished writing his first feature film, a horror entitled Koan.

In 2012 his short film “Letters Home”  won the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, in 2020 his TV project “Machans” was selected for AFTRS National Talent Camp and in 2021 he was selected as a co-writer on the project “Appetite” for SBS and Screen Australia’s Digital Originals initiative.

He enjoys telling stories that communicate bold and challenging ideas using dark comedy, horror and drama.
