Nikki Teeuw is a Melbourne-based screenwriter, author and short film director.
Her first short, and directorial debut, The Tsunami, was based on her prose of the same name and tackles the violence against women crisis.
Nikki writes mostly female-led stories and loves a tale that keeps her guessing or takes the reader/viewer somewhere unexpected.
Nikki’s feature screenplay The Piece was a 2026 BlueCat Screenplay quarterfinalist. She has also written an animated children’s feature and has begun work on a new adult feature and a TV drama.
Nikki has studied screenwriting and directing at AFTRS and has participated in the Australian Writers’ Centre’s Write Your Novel course, where she completed her first manuscript.
In 2025, Nikki was accepted into Nicky Weinstock’s Craft Services network. She also has a background as a singer/songwriter.
