Pearl further honed her craft in 2019 as a writer/director for the Deadly Family Portraits Initiative with SAFC and ABC iView. In 2021, she co-wrote and co-directed Blak Empire, produced by Dinosaur Disco Films and commissioned by NITV/SBS, Screen Australia, and SAFC.
