Peter Redhead is a Melbourne-based screenwriter and self-taught filmmaker.
With a B.A. in English Literature, he wrote, directed, edited, and composed music for his debut feature Partners in Crime, showcasing a multidisciplinary approach to storytelling. His latest screenplay is a sci-fi comedy, about a utopia and its increasingly pessimistic creator, which has been shortlisted for the 2025 John Hinde Award for Excellence in Science Fiction Writing.
Peter specialises in blending comedy with genre elements, using humour to illuminate life’s absurdities while exploring darker themes. His hands-on filmmaking experience informs his writing, and he crafts scripts that embrace production constraints as creative opportunities.
