Prior to this, she spent 14 years in Los Angeles working across animation, television and commercial productions and Emmy winning stop-motion animation shows such as Robot Chicken and Tumble Leaf.

Her most recent role, in early 2026, was Standby Props on the Australian ABC television series Separated at Birth, created by comedian Nazeem Hussain and Princess Pictures.

She also produced Mother Bunker, which was an official selection at the 2020 Melbourne International Film Festival, and in late 2025 participated in the Cinespace Writers’ Training Room program funded by Creative Victoria.

Pia’s work focuses on telling stories which explore multicultural themes that intersect with shared universal experiences through an Australian lens, and she loves diving into nitty gritty stories with comedic warmth.
