Bec Moret is a screenwriter and opera singer based in Sydney. A comedy and drama writer, she is currently developing three series, a comedy horror film, and a musical.
As a working performing artist she has had extensive experience in the gig economy, and Bec and writing partner and husband Jasper Garner Gore’s experiences as housekeepers in Sydney inspired the Monte Miller short-listed TV series Keeping House, which was optioned by Beyond Armana in 2020.
During Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, Bec and Jasper wrote and directed Tales for Uncertain Times, a five-part comedy-adventure webseries about fairy-tale characters trying to get their quest on under lockdown. Bec and Jasper also created the webseries Judge Odin, which was presented as part of the Melbourne Webfest Pitch iView event in 2019.
A graduate of the University of Melbourne and the Sydney Conservatorium, Bec has sung with Opera Australia and other companies around Australia, and has collaborated on several new operatic works.
