Renée Crea

Renée Crea is a screenwriter, director and producer with a Master of Screenwriting from the Victorian College of the Arts.

In 2021, her short screenplay Burning Bright was shortlisted for the Australian Writers’ Guild Monte Miller Award. Renée has done development work for feature film company WBMC and was development and production coordinator at Screen NSW. Her debut short as writer/ director, Dance Card, premiered at Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival, then played at Austin Film Festival, Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Brisbane Queer Film Festival and Sydney’s Queerscreen.

She co-produced the sci fi/ time travel short film I’m You, Dickhead, which played at Melbourne International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Fest and Flickerfest; and has more than 2.1 million online views. Renée freelanced as a production manager before producing her first short, Invasion which played at Palm Springs International Short Fest, Flickerfest and St Kilda Film Festival.
