Robert Connolly has had a hugely successful impact on the film and television industry; working across producing, writing and directing in a career spanning twenty years.

Robert Connolly is the writer and director of the feature films The Bank (2001), Three Dollars (2005), Balibo (2009), Underground: The Julian Assange Story (2012) and Paper Planes (2014) as well as one of the featured directors on the International Emmy nominated mini series The Slap (2011). He has recently completed directing the TV series Barracuda for Matchbox / NBCU and Deep State for Fox International.

Robert has won four AACTA awards for screen writing for The Bank, Three Dollars, Balibo, and Paper Planes, and two AWGIE awards for screenwriting. As a director, he has screened his films in over thirty major international film festivals including the Berlin, Toronto and San Sebastian International Film Festivals.

Robert’s production company Arenamedia is recognised as a champion of new talent, innovation and bold and compelling works for the screen. Feature film productions include Romulus, My Father, The Turning and Spear.
