Simone La Martina

Simone La Martina was selected to take part in First Break NSW and successfully completed the program in June 2022.

Simone is an award-winning writer, actor, and producer.  She wrote, produced, and played the lead in Privileged – an independent pilot which won Best Writing and Best Comedy at SeriesFest 2021 (awarded by the Director of Comedy Programming at HBO, and Emmy-Winning Producer Evan Shapiro).  Most recently, it won Best Comedy at Stareable LA (2022), where it was also nominated for Best Writing.

Privileged is also an official selection of the LA Comedy Festival (2022).

In 2021, Simone was shortlisted for the SBS Emerging Writer’s Incubator program.  She worked as Production Secretary on Barons (Fremantle, ABC) and was promoted to Assistant Production Coordinator on Wellmania (Fremantle, Netflix). For the past two months, Simone has worked as a notetaker in writer’s rooms for several Australian dramas.

In 2020 she graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts. Throughout her studies, she wrote, produced and performed in the acclaimed sketch comedy show, the Sydney Law Revue at the Seymour Centre.
