Sophie Wentzel-Lewis is a writer and production professional based in Melbourne/Naarm with over five years of experience in the industry.
Having always had a passion for entertainment and performance, Sophie initially wanted to pursue musical theatre but once she realised her singing is really not safe for human ears, she channelled her voice into her writing instead. The last three years Sophie has honed her craft at Princess Pictures/Princess Bento where she has assisted many writers and producers as a Development Room Note Taker, in building stories, worlds and characters.
Whilst working across both live action and animation, Sophie has had a variety of experience as a Directors’ Assistant, Studio Assistant, Production Coordinator and various other roles in production. She has been a quarter and semi-finalist of Screencraft’s Comedy Pilot and Virtual Pitch contests and has also completed studies at Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in screenwriting for film and television.
Sophie’s goal is to create compelling and entertaining stories that connect with Australian audiences. She is a recent graduate of the First Break Victoria program and a proud member of WIFT and AWG.
