Steven Arriagada

Growing up in the outer South-Eastern suburbs of Doveton and Springvale in Victoria, Steven Arriagada spent most of his life on the poverty line, with a detour as a low-level drug dealer for his underworld figure, family member. Someone from Steven’s background, historically shouldn’t have had access to the film industry, however…. Steven Arriagada is an AACTA-nominated writer, producer, and director.

Steven has won many national and international awards for the short films he wrote, directed, and produced and has been nominated for an AACTA and Dendy Award, won Script Pipeline (US) and Arclight Films/Chinalight Pitch competition. Steven has also trained to be a TV Showrunner under Louise Fox on ABC/Netflix/Matchbox’s Glitch Season 3 and has received development funding for his projects through Film Victoria and Screen Australia.

Steven’s film and TV experiences also span over live television broadcasts such as the ESPN coverage of the Australian Open, directing high-end TVC’s, including the Hugh Jackman Broadway to Oz campaign and promotions for some of Australia’s largest brands and musical act (anything to make a buck). Steven’s life goal is to generate uniquely scripted drama, featuring characters that we don’t usually see on Australian screens.
