Thomas Duncan-Watt is a three-time AWGIE Award winning screenwriter and showrunner who has worked across genres. Starting his career as a comedy writer on shows like Good News Week and Newsjack, his early screen credits include episodes of Emmy Award-winning series Beat Bugs for Netflix, The Deep for the ABC, and Dennis the Menace and Gnasher for the BBC where one of his scripts earned the show its first ever BAFTA nomination.

In 2018 Thomas earned his first Head Writer role on Space Nova, a 26×1/2 hour sci-fi series that, under his leadership, won the AWGIE award two years running for ‘Best Animated Script’ (2020/2021), as well as ‘Best Animated Series’ at the AACA Awards. This year, Thomas was also awarded the prestigious John Hinde Award for Science Fiction for his work on the show – a first for an animated series.

Currently, Thomas is writing on Australia’s most popular drama series Home & Away, while developing a new series in the USA with a team that includes multi-award winning director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours, The Crown).
