Tim Spencer

Tim Spencer is a writer for theatre, film and radio. His verbatim script, Show Me Yours, I’ll Show You Mine, won the 2012 Green Room Award for Best Independent Writing and the awards for Best Performance and Innovation in Theatre at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

In 2013 he became a writer in residence at Belvoir Theatre and received a commission to write the new play, Life Size. His video article, Love Porn, was published in Going Down Swinging (Issue 34). He has developed a new play Kiddo with Playwriting Australia.

In 2014 Tim studied a Graduate Certificate in Screenwriting at AFTRS. He successfully received funding from Screen Australia and Metro Screen to write and produce a short film, Oasis which premiered at the 2015 Mardi Gras Film Festival and went on to screen at film festivals around the world. His radio play, The Guy Who Screams Elephant, was broadcast on the ABC Radio National program Radio Tonic.

In 2017 Tim formed Wintergarden Pictures with Joshua Longhurst and Rosie Braye. Tim wrote the company’s first short film Cherry Season which received the Generator: Emerging Filmmaker’s Fund and was broadcast on SBS Viceland. He co-wrote the multi-platform comedy series Ding Dong I’m Gay with Zoe Norton Lodge.

He is currently working on new scripts for television and film including comedy, drama and sci-fi projects.
