Tom is a nerd for words with a Masters in Screenwriting from the University of Melbourne.
With friends in low places, Tom comes from a long line of bookies, horse traders and publicans – the people who built this country (the shifty bits anyway). He followed a typical career progression of barista, podiatrist, dead-eyed university policy writer, perpetual student and now, obviously, screenwriter. It was, in retrospect, inevitable.
An irreverent voice who has written jokes with stand-up comedian Joel Creasey, and added a twinkle in the eye to live productions like The Sam Pang Tonight Show. If jokes per minute is the meaningful metric, Tom will get you results. As a screenwriter, he’s an architect. A rigorous eye for story structure, knowing where the loose threads are, where the gaps are, and where you can actually fit more jokes – because if you can’t, you are simply not trying.
